Remote Surveillance and Remote Warning
The apparatus can be installed in the same place of the radio studios or in remote different places.
When RadioSentinel is installed in the same place of the radio studios it may be connected directly to a PC via RS232 for the analysis in real time and historical of the controlled parameters. The PC can be switched off or can be used for other applications when an analysis in real time is not being executed. The RadioSentinel however stores beyond a day of historical analysis that can be downloaded on the PC when you want. Equipping the PC with a GSM modem make possible the shipment of SMS messages to the cellphones of technicians or responsibles of radio station the every time that take place whatever anomaly conditions on the controlled parameters. For this function the PC must always remain switched on, but can be used for other applications, while the program for the RadioSentinel runs in background. GSM modem can be acquired or be rented from the managers of GSM nets.
The remote emplacements of RadioSentinel can generally have the same emplacements of the transmitter apparatuses, or rooms or offices in the city. In any case the RadioSentinel must be connected to a GSM modem. Also the PC used in center must be connected to a GSM modem. GSM modem can be acquired or be rented from the managers of GSM nets. The connection via GSM modem allows the analysis in real time and the download of the historical one.
The PC of the center can connect via GSM modem several RadioSentinel, allowing therefore a complete control also of national and international networks.
Is possible to program the shipment of SMS messages to GSM cellphones of technicians or responsibles of radio station the every time that take place whatever anomaly conditions on the controlled parameters. The messages and the recipients are different on the basis of the type of anomaly, and in the case that more transmitters are controlled also on the basis of the transmitter involved. For this function the PC must always remain switched on, but can be used for other applications while the program for the RadioSentinel runs in background.
Is possible with a normal GSM cellphone or with a fixed telephone to call a RadioSentinel and to listen the audio of radio station that the RadioSentinel is analyzing, allowing to control at a distance the good operation of the transmitters in other cities. Whichever frequency can also be set up with the keyboard of the telephone, in order to listen his audio.


FM signal analysis
RadioSentinel performs analysis in real time of Field Strenght, level of 19KHz Pilot, level of RDS 57KHz signal, Total Deviation, Left Channel level, Right Channel level, and also fully decodes the contained information in the RDS signal. The analysis can be carried out on whichever FM signal you can riceive, therefore you can analyze just not only signal of your radio station, but also the one of others.

The historical analysis can be made on more signals in sequence, dedicating to everyone a time that can be different from the others. The historical analysis is then showed separately for every frequency of every RadioSentinel. Every RadioSentinel can therefore control more radio stations or more frequencies of same radio station. The number of signals that can be analyzed is limited only practically from the fact that during the analysis of one signal RadioSentinel could lost or delay the detection of an important anomaly regarding an other signal.

Remote Warning
When the RadioSentinel detects an anomalous condition of controlled parameters, it calls the PC of the center, via RS232 connection if it is installed in center, or via GSM modem if it is installed in remote emplacement. The PC downloads from the RadioSentinel the messages of anomaly that have caused the call and on the basis of anomaly, radio station and transmitter which they refer, send one or more SMS messages to the interested GSM cellphones. As an example in case of anomaly of the Total Deviation could be sent to the technician of audio and the Manager of the radio station. In case of anomaly of Field Srenght could be sent to the technician of transmitters maintenance for the particular area. The SMS messages contain in evidency all the information useful to the recipient in order to well know the real gravity of the event. When the event stops, for example the Field Strenght returns normal, RadioSentinel can sent a message of confirmation of return to the normality. So when receive an alarm, the recipient can decide to wait for some time the spontaneous return to normality and to take provisions only if the return to normality does not happen in useful time.

RDS information analysis
The analysis of all RDS information goes very beyond the normal necessity of the daily control and it is shaped like a real tool of periodic verification of the good operation of RDS encoder, or in the case of networks with more encoders, of the good operation of the system of alignment of the information between the several encoders.
